Bright, central maisonette-flat in Meidling, Vienna
Hello Intervac Friends,
I (Tabea) have swapped homes together with my sister’s family and now Luka and I are eager to experience it for ourselves!
Vienna is a beautiful city offering many activities ranging from exploring history, food and the unique Viennese coffee culture to enjoying beautiful natural spots like the Wienerwald or Lainzer Tiergarten. You could take a walk through Schönbrunn park, go on a bike ride along the Danube, or visit one of the many museums.
Our flat is in a quiet area of the 12th district with everything you need just around the corner. The city centre can be reached in an approximately 20 minutes subway ride, and there is a good connection coming from the airport via Bahnhof Meidling (10 minutes walk from the flat).
We are an open-minded, careful and tidy couple living in a bright flat that is split over two floors: the large kitchen-living room, entrance and guest WC are on the lower floor, and the main bedroom, a bathroom and a guest room that we use as an office are on the upper floor.

About the neighborhood
Our flat is in Vienna’s 12th district, Meidling, representing the city’s rich history and many cultural influences. The area is both close to the city centre as well as a great starting point for trips outside of the city.
Getting around Vienna by public transport is very comfortable, as you can reach two subway stations in just a few minutes and from there the city centre in 20 minutes. One of the main train stations from which the airport can be reached in ca. 30 minutes, Bahnhof Meidling, is reachable by a 10 minute walk. Within the same distance is the beautiful Schönbrunn park and castle, inviting you for a relaxing stroll or a visit to the world’s oldest zoo.
All shops carrying daily needs are located within 5 minutes walking distance, including the traditional Meidlinger Markt, an open-air market place with regional culinary items and produce as well as restaurants. There are many culinary experiences to be had all over Vienna and we are happy to share our favourite restaurants and cafés with you.
Vienna offers countless activities, cultural and musical events depending on the time of year. We are happy to give further tips, so feel free to ask :)

Susana hat eine sehr freundliche und saubere Wohnung in einer ruhigen Wohngegend, die Fotos entsprechen der tatsächlichen Wohnung. Es hat an nichts gefehlt, und die An- und Abreise lief problemlos. Susana ist eine sehr zuvorkommende Tauschpartnerin und wir hatten regelmäßig Kontakt per Chat-Nachrichten, in denen wir uns gegenseitig wissen lassen haben, dass alles in Ordnung ist und wir tauschten weitere Vorschläge und Ausflugstipps aus.
Lejligheden var som beskrevet, fin og med god beliggenhed både ift indkøb og offentlig transport. Luka og Tabeas kommunikation var imødekommende og præcis. Vi nød opholdet.
Eine gemütliche und ruhige Wohnung, gut angebunden an Kopenhagen und Roskilde. Wir hatten eine schöne Zeit, und freuen uns, Annelise und Hans auf einen Kaffee getroffen zu haben. Sie sind sehr nett und die Kommunikation war immer prompt und unkompliziert.

We (Tabea and Luka) are an open-minded, careful and tidy couple living and working in Vienna.
Luka (27) is born and raised in Vienna. As balance to his job as a User Experience Designer he loves tinkering with electronics and handicraft as well as baking (especially bread and pizza).
Tabea (32) moved from Salzburg's Alps to Vienna to study Korean Studies. After working as a book seller for several years she is now also working as a User Experience Designer. She loves to read, craft and bake (mostly sweet things).
Both of us love travelling, reading and watching movies. We appreciate good food, which is why you will most probably find us in one of our favourite restaurants or cafés :)
Together with a group of friends we also try to revive and old farm stead in Lower Austria, where we tend to our vegetable garden and orchard. The things we harvest, we turn into jams, juice, cordial or preserve in another way.
